Job summary

Vir Biotechnology, Inc. is seeking an experienced Research Program Lead to drive execution of partnered and internal research programs from discovery through early development.

You will develop integrated plans, manage milestones, risks, and dependencies, and coordinate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. The role is based in San Francisco with a four-day-in-office expectation, collaborating with Go-To-Research leadership to advance assets to development and governance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline with 12+ years of experience in drug development.
• Advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA) preferred with commensurate experience.
• Demonstrated project management and drug development expertise, with ability to drive complex activities.
• Experience managing projects with remote teams and through external alliances preferred.
• Deep knowledge of PM methodologies, concepts, techniques, and tools.
• Proficient using MS Office Suite, SmartSheet, and/or other project management software.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Research Leads, Project Team Leads, and functional representatives to drive execution of partnered and internal research programs.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
• Facilitate cross-functional project team meetings and ensure alignment on objectives, priorities, and deliverables.
• Track program progress and mitigate risks that may impact timelines or objectives.
• Support program governance activities, including materials for portfolio reviews, stage gates, and leadership discussions.
• Coordinate with external collaboration partners as appropriate.
