Boston College is seeking an Associate Director of Procurement Services to lead strategic sourcing, drive cost optimization, and enhance supplier negotiations across the university. You will develop standard processes, oversee vendor selection, and collaborate with departments to align purchasing plans with budget targets.
The role requires 7+ years in procurement, 3+ years in supervision, and a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred).

The Associate Director, Procurement Services, leads, directs,and participates in efforts that lead to cost optimization, improved quality,and enhanced innovation through the development of strategic sourcinginitiatives, effective contracting, negotiation tools, and specificationdevelopment. This position will also developstandard processes and expected levels of execution related to the developmentof functional and category strategic sourcing programs, and will oversee theexecution of vendor selection.
The Associate Director manages the Procurement teamsresponsible for the strategic sourcing of all commodities and services byproviding oversight to team members efforts in market assessments, RFP, bidstrategy development, supplier negotiations, and contract development andimplementation activities. In additionwill be responsible for strategic cost management requiring extensivecross-functional interface within the University community, and will furnish procurement analysis and cost data for planning, budgeting, and otherfunctional duties.
The Associate Director acts in a consultative role and workswith departments throughout the University by determining how the Procurementorganization can assist in achieving their goals by understanding eachdepartment’s unique purchasing needs and budgets, and developing sourcing plansand strategies that best meets those needs. This position is also the primary conduit for the multiple Consortiumpartnerships of the University and uses his/her knowledge of spend andtechnology in order to lower costs for Consortium members and the University.
This is an in-office position.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $124,950 to $156,200; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
