Job Description

The Assistant/Senior Assistant/Associate Director willwork independently and as a member of a team within the Office of Undergraduate Admission to enroll the most competitive incoming classes with a wide range of backgrounds and talents. The annual cycle of the admission and enrollment process has the Assistant/Senior Assistant/Associate Director performing and working in a variety of functions throughout the year. The Undergraduate Admission staff is responsible for enrolling students in the bachelor’s degree program and the residential associate’s degree program via BC’s 9th college, Messina College.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Manageassigned territory through outreach to high schools, prospectivestudents/families, and alumni. Outreach includes seasonal travel toapproximately 75 high schools within assigned recruitment territories (bothdomestically and internationally) to represent the University to prospectivestudents and counselors. Territory management may also require speaking atevening programs, coordinating meetings with alumni, leading admission-basedworkshops, and attending professional conferences.

  • Review applications for admission. Will annually review and manageapproximately 1,800-1,900 first-year applications between mid-October andmid-March. Evening and weekend work will be necessary at times.

  • Conduct information sessions both on and off campus.Assist in the general hospitality service of all admission guests visitingBoston College.

  • Experience with recruitment and enrollment with a wide range of studentpopulations and undergraduate recruitment programs is desired.

  • Plan and execute a range of supplementaryresponsibilities that may include event management, print and digitalcommunications, work as an athletic liaison, or other responsibilities asassigned.

  • Technical and project management experience in Slate CRMis desired.

  • Additional job-related duties within the Office ofUndergraduate Admission to include phone coverage, open house programs,meeting/committees, mentoring current students, and additional responsibilitiesas assigned.

  • Associate Director: $74,450 - $93,050; 5+ years related professional experience

  • Senior Assistant Director: $67,350 - $84,200; 3-5 years related professional experience

  • Assistant Director: $61,050 - $76,300; 1-3 years experience


Requirements

At a minimum, a bachelor's degree from an accreditedcollege or university.


The successful candidate should also possess:



  • Enthusiasm for representing Boston College to prospective students, families, and college/school counselors.

  • Commitment to recruiting, enrolling, retaining, mentoring, and engaging with students from a wide range of backgrounds.

  • Ability to effectively communicate Boston College's distinctive mission as a Catholic, Jesuit university.

  • Excellent time management and communication skills, with particular strengths in public speaking and writing.

  • At least two years of previous admission experience or comparable work experience in higher education or another related profession is preferred.
