Lilly recently announced a $4.5 billion investment to create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a pioneering center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. This unique facility combines research and manufacturing, enabling Lilly to develop innovative solutions, optimize processes, increase capacity, and reduce costs and environmental impact.

This position initially supports site readiness from a procurement perspective, coordinating key activities and establishing vendor relationships. Once operational, it will oversee ongoing procurement activities. During construction, the role will be based at the Lilly Technology Center - North, moving to the Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana, upon completion.

Key Objectives/Results
  1. Develop a strong understanding of the site and ensure procurement strategies align with the Foundry’s goals, maintaining communication with site leadership.
  2. Build and sustain relationships with Lilly’s Global Procurement and manufacturing sites.
  3. Establish and cultivate relationships with local suppliers, including negotiations, and integrate global suppliers into the site’s supply chain.
  4. Support Lilly’s supplier diversity initiatives.
  5. Manage and update master supply agreements, applying global procurement guidance.
  6. Lead supplier relations for strategic third-party suppliers, driving actions, resolving issues, and fostering continuous improvement.
  7. Implement quality, reliability, efficiency, and cost-saving projects with suppliers, and report site savings following global methodologies.
  8. Make decisions regarding supplier quality and resolve related issues, maintaining high-quality relations.
  9. Conduct market benchmarking analyses for supported categories.
  10. Collaborate with Global Procurement and Site Finance to develop new supplier relationships and service lines.
  11. Work closely with demand planners and buyers to ensure supply continuity, security, and process optimization.
  12. Ensure compliance with procurement, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, R&D, or procurement roles.
  • Authorized to work full-time in the United States; sponsorship is not provided.
Additional Preferences
  • MBA
  • Green or Black Belt training
  • Experience in regulated environments
  • Project management and vendor negotiation experience
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and act proactively
  • Strong influencing, teamwork, presentation, and relationship skills
