We are looking for an Omnichannel Data Scientist with strong expertise in artificial intelligence, encompassing machine learning, data mining, and information retrieval. This position involves conceptualizing, prototyping, and developing next-generation advanced analytics models and decision engines. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives and leverage data and AI/ML to meet those goals.

  • Identify relevant data features and create visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
  • Select appropriate statistical and machine learning techniques, ensuring model accuracy, performance, and relevance. Develop scalable, interpretable models integrated into data products tailored to Otsuka’s portfolio.
  • Communicate analytical approaches clearly to business partners.
  • Work end-to-end with process owners, solution engineers, and analysts to design prototypes and deploy solutions.
  • Collaborate with ML/Ops engineers to build, test, and deploy production-grade predictive models for decision engines, including sales optimization and customer behavior prediction.
  • Contribute to the growth of the analytics team by developing processes, tools, and standards.
  • Engage with MLOps workflows, ensuring traceability and versioning of datasets. Familiarize with Otsuka’s ML tech stack including AWS, Kubernetes, Snowflake, and Dataiku.
  • Stay current with industry trends and develop strategic partnerships to enhance analytics outcomes.
  • Model core competencies such as accountability, strategic thinking, patient-centricity, impactful communication, collaboration, and professional development, working across various internal teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data sciences, computer science, with 4-6 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience scripting and implementing data analytics algorithms and models. Proficiency in software like Python, R, SAS, or similar is a plus.
  • Knowledge of machine learning/AI tools in life sciences and handling related datasets.
  • Strong interpersonal, technical, and communication skills for leading cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of the machine learning lifecycle: feature engineering, training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Experience managing machine learning projects from start to finish, focusing on automation and performance optimization.
  • Agile methodologies experience.
  • Healthcare industry experience, especially in the US, is preferred.

Core Competencies:

  • Accountability for Results
  • Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving
  • Patient & Customer Centricity
  • Impactful Communication
