OVERVIEW The Associate Director for the Office of Learning Abroad provides leadership, direction, and supervision for learning abroad operations at the University of Houston System. This role supports the development and implementation of academic and non-academic experiences overseas while contributing to the institution’s global engagement priorities. The position also assists with advancing international initiatives connected to recruitment, scholarship opportunities, and exchange partnerships.
Key responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction, and supervision for the Office of Learning Abroad
- Assist in developing and advancing academic and non-academic experiences overseas
- Direct implementation of learning abroad initiatives and operations
- Oversee faculty-led program development
- Support student recruitment efforts related to learning abroad opportunities
- Manage scholarship opportunities connected to learning abroad programs
- Oversee exchange partnerships
- Support risk management activities related to learning abroad operationsAssist the university in advancing globalization goals
- Support international scholarship recruitment efforts through the Institute for Global Engagement
Requirements
- Experience providing leadership and supervision
