Job summary

Florida Tech seeks an Associate Director to supervise and coordinate operations for a university function, including out-of-state domestic recruiting. You will develop policies, monitor budgets, and manage staffing for a growing enrollment program.

  • Directs the function’s budget activities to fund operations and increase efficiency.

Job description

Exercises discretion and independent judgment with matters ofsignificance directly related to management or general businessoperations. The Associate Director is responsible for supervising,planning, directing, and coordinating the operations for a functionor large sub-function within the University (out of state domesticrecruiting). The Associate Director is also accountable fordeveloping policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for thefunctional area in support of the overall mission of theUniversity. In addition, this position will monitor budgets anddetermine staffing requirements and manage administrativefunctions. Has territory management responsibility. Conductsapplication evaluation, Travel Planning, Student Interviews, Largegroup presentations and Specialty Projects (Regeneron ISEFparticipation, and managing off campus receptions and events.) As arepresentative of the university, you will be a member of theNational Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC) andwill adhere to the standards outlined in NACAC’s Guide to EthicalPractices in College Admissions.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Ove rsees implementation of functional strategy throughsubordinate staff and ensures adherence to quality standards,deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors orproblems.
  • Takes responsibility for operational effectiveness of assignedfunction.
  • Management of Department in absence of the Executive Directorof Admission.
  • Manages an assigned recruitment territory in support of theoverall enrollment goals of the university.
  • Provides employees with guidance and training in handling theirrespective duties. Corrects course of action if necessary andprovides job performance feedback
  • Monitors and reviews records and reports pertaining toactivities relevant to assigned work and verifies information toinform decisions
  • Directs and coordinates the function’s financial budgetactivities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increaseefficiency
  • R ecruits, interviews, and selects employees to meet the needsof the particular department’s function, program, or agenda.
  • Makes recommendations on department strategy to next level ofmanagement based on functional observations.

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy andCampus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges anduniversities, both public and private, participating in federalstudent aid programs to disclose campus safety information, andimposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexualviolence and emergency situations.

Florida Tech’s 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includesstatistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimesthat occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings orproperty owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on publicproperty within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from,the campus.

The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported tolocal law enforcement agencies, campus security and other CampusSecurity Authorities.

The report also includes institutional policy statements regardingcampus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention andawareness programs; related university procedures and importantguidance; and other essential safety information.
