About This Role
The Associate Director of Nursing for Behavioral Health at Harlem Hospital Center is a management position responsible for supervising nursing operations and ensuring quality patient care. This role is ideal for experienced nursing leaders who are adept at administrative responsibilities and clinical oversight.

What You'll Do
- Coordinate all patient care and operational activities in respective departments.
- Provide managerial and clinical links between the nurse manager and department direction.
- Assist in assigning admission and internal/external transfers.
- Monitor employee performance relative to patient care and nursing practice.
- Facilitate staff participation in professional development activities.
- Develop and implement a staffing plan based on patient acuity and census.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve patient care and employee performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Respond to patient and family inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain a safe work environment for patient care.
Requirements
Education
- Master's Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, or equivalent field preferred
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required
Experience
- Minimum of six years of satisfactory nursing experience, with four years in a supervisory, teaching, or administrative capacity preferred
- Seven years of satisfactory nursing experience with five years in a supervisory or teaching capacity required
Licenses & Certifications
- Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
