Job summary

Harvard University seeks an Associate Director for the Office of Alumni Affairs and Development. The role focuses on qualifying, engaging, and cultivating prospects with capacity in the $100K–$500K range, and moving them to principal or major gift discussions as needed.

You will collaborate across HMS PMGG and fundraising teams to design targeted outreach. You will manage a portfolio, develop donor-facing opportunities, and prepare faculty for donor interactions, while maintaining timely CRM

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in fundraising, development, or related transferable experience.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication with discretion and confidentiality.
• Collaborative, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Qualify, engage, and cultivate prospects with capacity in the $100K–$500K range.
• Move prospects from qualification to cultivation and transition to higher-level officers when appropriate.
• Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors within the specified capacity range.
• Design donor-facing opportunities and coordinate with faculty and senior colleagues on six-figure solicitations.
• Develop and implement engagement opportunities and lead event strategies for cultivation.
• Record contacts, proposals, and outcomes in the CRM and analyze data toward revenue goals.
