Job summary

Harvard Medical School is seeking a Managing Director of Gift Planning to provide strategic leadership for a comprehensive gift planning program. You will lead the program, supervise staff, manage a portfolio of 80+ prospects, and collaborate across HMS and University partners to advance fundraising priorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible development experience with planned gifts.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Demonstrated success closing major and/or planned gifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HMS Gift Planning program with strategic direction and multi-year plans.
• Supervise two direct reports and foster high-performance culture.
• Oversee gift planning prospect pool and portfolio reviews.
• Design cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for planned, blended, and outright gifts.
• Coordinate marketing with Development Communications to educate donors.
• Collaborate across HMS and University partners to advance fundraising priorities.
• Travel as needed and maintain compliance with university policies.
