Job summary

Teaching Matters seeks an Associate Director of Programs to design, implement, and scale program initiatives that improve literacy outcomes. The role reports to the VP of Programs and Services and serves as a senior leader shaping program design, pitch, and execution to close literacy gaps.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7–10 years instructional and leadership experience in literacy education.
• Successful track record leading system-level change in schools and improving ELA decision making.
• Proven success in designing and/or implementing RTI systems in schools.
• Deep knowledge of current research base in ELA instruction.
• High level of professionalism and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong commitment to Teaching Matters’ mission and equity goals.
• Measurable gains in ELA instruction quality and HQIM implementation expected.
• Bachelor and Master’s Degrees are required.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve program offerings (workshops, coaching, instructional materials) aligned with priorities and needs.
• Collaborate with consultants and cross-functional teams to develop high-quality educator content.
• Lead data-informed improvement cycles by analyzing outcomes and proposing revisions.
