Job summary

Austin Achieve Public Schools in Austin, TX seeks an exceptional Director of Literacy to lead our district-wide literacy strategy. This role reports to the Chief Academic Officer and works with CAO, campus leaders, and teachers to implement a phonics-based, evidence-informed literacy program from PK-12.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of English teaching with strong scholar outcomes.
• Experience leading instructional teams and professional development.
• Ability to analyze literacy data and drive improvement.
• Experience across multiple school levels preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead district literacy program design and development.
• Coach school leaders on literacy instruction.
• Conduct data-driven audits and generate improvement plans.
• Develop and monitor network-level literacy goals.
• Lead professional development and organize instructional rounds.
• Collaborate with CAO and principals to align curricula.
