Job summary

Drexel University is seeking an Associate Director of Development (LAGO) to engage alumni, donors, and friends in cultivating philanthropic support. This hybrid role focuses on annual gifts while building a robust donor pipeline and identifying major gift prospects.

The position involves front-line solicitation, on-campus work for 90 days, and travel around the greater Philadelphia area. Strong communication and administrative skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• At least 3 years in higher education, healthcare, or nonprofit fundraising, preferably annual giving.
• Willingness to travel domestically a few times a year.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Valid Driver's License and regional travel capacity.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong administrative abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly outreach plans with leadership to engage a portfolio of prospects and donors.
• Maintain a schedule of ~12 visits per month (in-person, virtual, or phone) that advance the prospect toward giving.
• Proactively reach out to prospects and donors to build and maintain the portfolio.
• Identify referrals and cultivate new prospects.
• Move high-level donors to the major gift pool ($50,000+) and grow the donor pipeline.
• Update the fundraising pipeline and enter proposals of $10,000 or more.
• Encourage giving levels such as $2,500+ to Drexel Society annually.
• Collaborate with alumni engagement to identify volunteers and promote alumni events.
• Represent Drexel University to constituents and the community front-line.
• Stay informed on university priorities and giving opportunities.
• Collaborate across fundraising units and adhere to IA standards for prospect management.
• Travel regionally and nationally as required.
