Job summary

CFS, based in New York, seeks an Associate Director, Grants & Contracts to oversee a portfolio of 25+ city and state government grants and contracts, reporting to the Director of Contract Management. You will ensure budgets, reports, renewals and compliance, while liaising with funders and contract agencies.

The role offers exposure to core programs in NYC, opportunities to improve systems, and long-term growth within a mission-driven nonprofit with a strong benefits package and hybrid work

Qualifications

  • Experience managing government grants and contracts within a nonprofit environment.
  • Strong knowledge of NYC/NY State funding sources like OPWDD, DOHMH, DYCD, OMH.
  • Hands-on expertise with PASSPort, SFS, CFRS, and related government reporting systems.
  • Experience with grant compliance, budgeting, financial reporting, and funder communications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of 25+ city and state government grants and contracts.
  • Ensure timely completion of budgets, financial reports, renewals, and compliance requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with government funders and contract agencies.
  • Maintain and oversee submissions through PASSPort, SFS, CFRS, and related systems.
  • Support and guide analysts on contract administration and reporting activities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across grants and contracts operations.
