Job summary

Illumina is seeking an Associate Director of Learning & Capability Development to shape the company’s enterprise learning strategy and capability-building initiatives. You will translate leadership needs into scalable journeys, lead a diverse portfolio, and modernize the learning ecosystem with AI-enabled tools across a global organization.

The role requires a strong track record in L&D, change management, and cross-functional leadership, with a focus on measurable business impact and workforce

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of related experience, including 7+ years in management.
• Experience in Talent Development, Capability Development, L&D within a global, matrixed organization.
• Proven ability designing enterprise learning or capability development strategies aligned with business priorities.
• Experience building scalable learning ecosystems using digital, blended, and AI-enabled approaches.
• Experience managing external learning vendors and partnerships.
• Strong consulting, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience with enterprise transformation or organizational change initiatives.
• AI fluency and familiarity with Copilot or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve Illumina’s enterprise learning and capability development strategy.
• Translate leadership, talent, and capability requirements into scalable learning journeys.
• Lead an integrated portfolio of enterprise learning solutions.
• Architect and improve a modern learning ecosystem.
• Lead and develop a team responsible for learning solutions.
• Partner with HR to assess capability gaps and drive leadership development.
• Define learning architecture, governance, and accessibility standards.
• Measure learner experience and business impact.
