Job summary

Northeastern University’s NYC campus seeks an Associate Director of Experiential Education and Career Development to lead career advising and programming for students advancing from exploration to offers.

The role emphasizes AI-enabled insights, employer engagement, and data-driven program design, with supervision of the Assistant Director to build a high-performing, student-centered team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 4–6 years of progressive experience in career services, recruiting, workforce development, or industry.
• Experience advising students or early-career professionals and translating industry dynamics into guidance.
• Experience managing others, coaching, giving feedback, and developing staff.
• Ability to build and sustain employer relationships for internships and full-time opportunities.
• Proficiency with career platforms (Handshake) and labor market intelligence tools; data-informed practice.
• Data fluency to interpret employment outcomes, trends, and program metrics.
• Strong presentation, coaching and interpersonal skills; collaborative across departments.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive advising.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized career advising and coaching to students pursuing internships and experiential learning opportunities.
• Design and deliver a calendar of career programming addressing exploration, networking, interview prep, fairs, and salary negotiation.
• Cultivate relationships with employer partners to generate opportunities for Northeastern students and graduates.
• Monitor labor market trends and synthesize insights into programming and student resources.
• Oversee internship and experiential programs, including stipend programs and on-campus internships, with robust data management.
