Job summary

Energy Solutions is seeking an Associate Director, Projects for the Energy Efficiency Team. This remote role, based on the East Coast (preferably North Carolina), leads a portfolio of complex client programs and utility contracts, guiding delivery, client relationships, and strategic growth.

You will shape portfolio strategy, oversee financial performance, workforce planning, and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate growth and deliver long-term impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years of experience leading energy efficiency programs, utility client portfolios, or strategic initiatives
• 7+ years of leadership experience with accountability for senior leaders and business outcomes
• Experience directing complex client portfolios with accountability for contract performance and growth
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across operations, finance, compliance, analytics, business development, and stakeholders
• Experience managing senior-level client relationships and influencing strategic decisions

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of complex programs, client engagements, utility contracts, and strategic initiatives
• Own portfolio outcomes for delivery performance, client satisfaction, financial results, regulatory compliance, and business growth
• Shape long-term strategies that strengthen service offerings and expand market opportunities
• Advance portfolio initiatives that improve scalability, client value, and competitive positioning
• Champion strategic improvements and transformation initiatives that enhance business performance
• Own portfolio financial performance including budgets, forecasts, revenue targets, and profitability
• Optimize workforce planning, staffing models, and resource allocation to maximize outcomes
• Drive corrective actions based on portfolio performance and client commitments
• Ensure contract performance and revenue realization across the portfolio
• Cultivate senior-level relationships with utility clients, regulators, and partners
• Influence portfolio decisions through communication and stakeholder management
• Lead senior managers and project leaders to strengthen organizational leadership
• Establish workforce planning and succession planning to support long-term needs
• Develop leadership through coaching, performance management, and mentoring
• Ensure governance, compliance, and quality standards across the portfolio
• Own portfolio performance against financial metrics
