Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking an Associate Director of Early Education at the Wang YMCA. The role oversees Infant, Toddler and Preschool classrooms, ensuring a developmentally appropriate program aligned with EEC regulations and Y core focus areas.

50% in-classroom coverage supports ratios and teacher presence, with budget and grant responsibilities. The position requires a BA/BS in Early Childhood Education, 5-7 years of supervisory teaching experience, and EEC Director II qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • 5 -7 years professional teaching experience supervising staff and developing curriculum.
  • Must meet EEC qualifications per state regulations for Director II and be 21 years of age.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the developmental progression of skills and program development.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure developmentally appropriate, multicultural curriculum fostering skill progression and social development.
  • Meet EEC regulations; engage with MA Quality Rating and Improvement System; pursue NAEYC accreditation; maintain Professional Qualifications Registry.
  • Support YMCA of Greater Boston Initiatives for Child Development, including curriculum, assessments, and kindergarten readiness.
  • Implement policies, procedures, parent meetings, staff development and a child-centered curriculum; supervise and hold staff accountable.
  • Develop weekly classroom presence and lead teacher support; create a comprehensive daily schedule with monthly themes.
