Job summary

Emory University is seeking an Associate Director, Digital Platform Engineer to build, optimize, and support the university's digital platforms within the Advancement and Alumni Engagement ecosystem.

The role focuses on front-end and back-end development, SaaS and cloud deployments, and collaboration with Marketing and IT teams. Residency in GA required, with in-person work two days weekly and potential remote work several days based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional experience in journalism, communications or marketing OR equivalent.
• Experience with front-end and back-end technologies in a marketing/communications context.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Drupal/Shopify/Acquia experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications, websites, and digital platforms with front-end and back-end frameworks.
• Support SaaS, enterprise, and cloud-based deployments on Shopify, Acquia, Gravyty and AlumnIQ.
• Build core features and custom functionality using JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Liquid and Node.js.
• Write scripts to automate deployment, configuration, and API installations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development and production environments.
• Maintain platform governance, documentation, security, accessibility, and technical standards.
• Collaborate with IT teams on security, connectivity, and deployment concerns.
• Partner with Marketing Intelligence to translate audience insights into personalized experiences.
• This role requires coming in person two days a week.
