Job summary

Housing Works in New York, NY, seeks an Associate Director, Development Events to lead key fundraising events such as Groundbreaker Awards, Design on a Dime, and Fashion for Action. You will drive donor cultivation, plan event logistics, and manage sponsorship outreach to expand revenue and visibility for the organization.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years of event/management experience is preferred.
• Superior communication skills, including presenting to diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills, with excellent written and oral communication.
• Strategic planning experience and ability to manage performance.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel for job-related meetings and events.
• Experience with fundraising events and donor relations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute events, including dates, locations, participants, and formats.
• Lead event sponsorship outreach and renewals with partners.
• Develop and manage integrated marketing and activation plans for sponsors.
• Build and maintain relationships with priority donors, vendors, and volunteers.
• Assist with event communications, budgeting, and contract negotiations.
• Identify new event opportunities to grow revenue and donors.
• Coordinate logistics for production, catering, AV, and decor.
