Job summary

Howden is seeking an experienced catastrophe modeling professional in the United States to drive advanced risk analysis and portfolio optimization. You will handle data preparation, model validation, and results communication for a range of stakeholders.

The role requires 4+ years in catastrophe modeling and proficiency with SQL, Python, R, Power BI, and ArcGIS. A strong analytical background and working knowledge of Verisk Touchstone/RMS RiskLink are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance or similar analytical major.
• 4+ years of catastrophe modeling and risk management experience.
• Proficiency in data analysis, manipulation, and visualization tools/languages such as SQL, Excel, R, Python, Power BI, and ArcGIS.

Responsibilities

• Execute all aspects of catastrophe modeling, including data prep, validation, portfolio analysis and postprocessing.
• Respond to stakeholder queries on property exposure data, real-time cat events, model validation, risk view, and portfolio profitability.
• Design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs using proprietary software.
• Improve analytical processes for efficiency and client outcomes.
• Establish strong relationships with colleagues, clients and reinsurers.
