Job summary

Georgia State University’s Department of Recreational Services invites applications for Associate Director, Recreation at the Downtown Atlanta campus. The role requires leadership of facilities including Student Recreation Center and related properties, with evening and weekend hours as needed.

You will oversee twelve full-time staff, manage budgets, coordinate with Facilities, and drive preventive maintenance plans to ensure safe, welcoming spaces for students and campus communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and four years of supervisory/management experience.
• Preferred Master's degree in Recreation or related field.
• Experience in higher education facility operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise 12 full-time staff and oversee recreation facilities.
• Develop and manage facility maintenance plans and budgets.
• Coordinate with university facilities, vendors, and safety teams.
• Lead facility inspections, reporting, and event support.
