Job summary

Seattle University in First Hill seeks an Associate Director of Development for Annual Giving to develop a strategy and portfolio of discovery prospects, working closely with AVP Development and Director of Prospect Development.

The role focuses on donor relations, soliciting annual gifts of $1,000–$25,000 across multiple channels, building a donor portfolio, and coordinating with university partners to maximize impact, with the goal of advancing annual giving and positioning donors for future

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ work experience in fundraising/development, higher education, alumni or customer engagement, non-profit program management, marketing/sales, or similar fields.
• High level of cultural competency including sensitivity to race, class, and ethical dilemmas in donor partnerships.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences including leadership, donors, students, faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, and solicit leadership annual gifts while stewarding prospects through proposal development per university protocol.
• Annually solicit a portfolio of 150+ prospects, securing gifts in the $1,000–$25,000 range using multiple channels.
• Promote giving opportunities (SU Gives, President’s Club, annual campaigns) and build donor portfolios for future solicitations.
• Ensure timely donor acknowledgement and accurate gift processing in the university system.
