Job description

  • Lead engineering teams in developing concepts and solutions addressing customer-identified technology needs and warfighter capability gaps
  • Lead cross-functional teams in creating white papers and winning proposals
  • Lead program teams in executing technology-focused contracts
  • Build relationships with customers, competitors, industry partners, and government organizations to gather business intelligence and shape winning teams
  • Develop and lead IRAD and capital investment projects
  • Support the AMTT Director with strategy, financial commitments, budgets, communications, reviews, and business reporting
  • Mentor, coach, and train employees across multiple functions
  • Maintain a Raytheon presence at technical conferences and meetings
  • Travel as required to support customers, partners, and program objectives
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum 12 years of prior chemical or materials engineering experience
  • Experience in capture management and/or managing technology development programs
  • Experience creating advanced materials research and development projects
  • Relationship or network with U.S. Government Research and Development organizations and laboratories, FFRDCs, industry, and/or academic technical and programmatic leaders in the R&D community
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance required prior to start date
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance after start
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ph.D. or advanced degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Physics, or related discipline preferred
  • Recognized subject-matter expertise and leadership in materials science or related field preferred
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and direct, influence, motivate, and guide team members
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary CRAD environment, including new business capture, proposal development, technology evaluation, program management, and technical contribution
  • Experience securing intellectual property for emerging technologies
  • Experience with advanced ceramic, composite, and metal technologies
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government and industry organizations, test facilities, and associated assets
  • Experience in advanced materials processing, characterization, and maturation
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance preferred
