Job summary

Compass Health Center is launching a Falls Church, Virginia program to serve adolescents (12-18) in Mood & Anxiety, with cross-training in Adolescent specialty programs. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized treatment plans and coordinate with families and schools.

The role starts mid January and includes 5 weeks of training before going live with patients, and is 100% onsite at the Falls Church location. Experience with CBT/DBT and crisis care is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years clinical work experience post-Master’s (strongly preferred)
• Knowledge and experience utilizing CBT and DBT
• Experience with patients in crisis, ideally in PHP/IOP, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential setting

Responsibilities

• Complete initial intake evaluation to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program
• Provide group and individual therapy
• Provide family therapy as needed
• Communicate with patients’ family members or support system regularly
• Coordinate care with outside providers for continuity of care
• Coordinate school re-entry meetings and homeschool communication
• Create individualized weekly schedules for each patient
• Assess progress and need for higher level of care or discharge
• Chart progress of patients
• Provide updates to insurance utilization team

About This Role

As the largest provider of PHP/IOP programs and psychiatric services in Illinois, Compass Health Center is one of the fastest-growing behavioral health organizations in the country. Launching in early 2027, our location in Falls Church, Virginia, will be home to top local talent in behavioral health care. This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers will build our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians and doctors working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade.

As a Primary Therapist, you’ll work thoughtfully with our patients to develop and implement their individualized treatment plans. This role will consist of conducting individual therapy meetings, collaborating with patients’ outpatient teams, and leading patients through their overall treatment program. You’ll partner closely with the entirety of our treatment teams, including Group Therapists, Family Therapists, and Prescribers to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care.

This role will work with patients aged 12-18 in our Mood & Anxiety Program, while also offering the opportunity to be cross-trained within our Adolescent specialty programs and services: School Refusal, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Mental Health and Substance Use.

Please note that this role is set to start in mid January and will consist of 5 weeks of training prior to launching for patients, and will be 100% onsite at our Falls Church location.

What You\'ll Do:

• Complete initial intake evaluation to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program
• Provide group and individual therapy
• Provide family therapy as needed
• Communicate with patients’ family members or support system, on a weekly basis or as needed
• Coordinate care with patients’ outside providers to ensure continuity of care
• Communicate with patients’ homeschool and attend school re-entry meetings
• Create individualized weekly schedules for each patient based on need
• Assess patients’ progress and need for higher level of care, transition plan and/or discharge
• Chart progress of patients appropriately
• Provide insurance utilization team with updates

Who You Are:

• Psychologist or Master’s level therapist with clinical license in Virginia
• 2+ years clinical work experience post-Master’s (strongly preferred)
• Have knowledge and experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as other evidenced-based therapies
• Have experience with patients in crisis, ideally prior experience working in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential setting
