Job description

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will be a critical business partner to various VPs across the organization, providing insightful financial guidance and strategic support. These roles are essential in building a strong control environment and ensuring our accounting processes are scalable, efficient, and ready for the rigors of a public company.

Responsibilities
  • Take full ownership of specific areas of the P&L and Balance Sheet, ensure integrity and accuracy of financial data.
  • Lead the month‑end close process for your area, ensuring all deadlines are met and the close proceeds smoothly.
  • Effectively communicate month‑end results, providing variance analysis and key insights to business partners and leadership.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers), leading the interpretation and application of this standard to new initiatives and business models, especially for business‑to‑business relationships.
  • Design, implement, and maintain a strong internal control environment aligned with established frameworks (e.g., SOX) to support IPO readiness.
  • Assess accounting implications of new business initiatives, products, and partnerships, providing proactive guidance to business leaders.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with VPs and other cross‑functional leaders to understand their business needs and provide financial insights.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, take ownership of your area, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate an AI‑forward mindset, identify and implement new technologies to automate and streamline accounting processes.
  • Review material B2B contracts with the business to understand terms and conditions, make recommendations for improvements, and communicate operational impacts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience with B2B accounting, including discounts and volume‑related contract terms.
  • Strong knowledge and proven experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and experience with control frameworks (e.g., SOX).
  • Experience at a public company or a company that has recently undergone an IPO is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Strong collaborative spirit, passion for leveraging technology, and willingness to roll up your sleeves and solve problems.
  • Experience with Netsuite, FloQast is a strong asset.
  • High comfort level dealing with large data sets; ability to read and decipher SQL queries is strongly preferred.
Benefits
  • Base salary: $174,000–$183,500 (NewYork/NewJersey).
