Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school is required.
• Admission to any state bar is required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in legal practice or higher education is required.
• Demonstrated potential or experience in teaching, tutoring, or academic skills workshops is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and support for academic success courses and workshops at University Park and other locations as needed.
• Counsel JD and LLM students through one-on-one and small group meetings to improve study and test-taking skills.
• Provide academic skills advising for University Park students under the Enhanced Academic Support Program.
• Oversee the tutoring program in collaboration with the Director and coordinate with HR, student organizations, and faculty to ensure equitable services at both locations.
• Assist with spring and summer bar preparation courses, including meetings with students, tracking attendance, guest teaching, and grading assignments.
• Create and maintain a webpage with up-to-date bar exam information, resources, practice questions, and study tips.
• Oversee collection of bar exam results and draft the ABA Bar Questionnaire annually.
• Advise students on course selection and maximizing law school experiences, especially during registration season.
• Refer students to Academic & Student Services and counseling resources as needed.
• Attend on- and off-campus events and travel between Carlisle and University Park law school locations as required.
• Other duties may be assigned.
