Job summary

CADCA seeks a marketing professional to manage social media, create content, and build a cohesive content calendar for campaigns and events. You will design graphics, update WordPress pages with best practices, and collaborate with the Membership team on audience segmentation and email distribution.

Requirements include a B.A./B.S. in a related field and 2–3 years of relevant experience, plus strong writing, editing, and digital storytelling skills. Residency in VA/MD/DC is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience (internships count!)
  • Strong graphic design, writing, editing, and digital storytelling skills
  • Experience managing social content, editorial calendars, and performance reporting
  • Comfort with audience data, digital analytics, and multiple platforms
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines across teams
  • Portfolio of design, writing, social, or multimedia work
  • Applicants must have residency in VA, MD, or DC
  • Currently authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. on a full-time basis
  • Must submit a cover letter and portfolio of relevant samples
  • Occasional travel or after-hours work may be required around signature events
  • Nice-to-have: Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva, WordPress, Google Analytics, social scheduling tools
  • Nice-to-have: NetForum and Informz or similar database/email platforms, including queries, segmentation, and list hygiene
  • Nice-to-have: Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email formatting and troubleshooting
  • Nice-to-have: SEO, AI search discoverability, conversion optimization, and Google Ads / Google Ad Grants experience
  • Nice-to-have: Video production or editing experience
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in a nonprofit, association, membership, or event marketing setting

Responsibilities

  • Write, schedule, publish, and monitor CADCA's social media channels
  • Build and maintain an organization-wide content calendar for campaigns, events, and priorities
  • Create social graphics, flyers, infographics, one-pagers, email graphics, presentations, and event materials
  • Build, test, schedule, and deploy email campaigns
  • Partner with the Membership team to segment audiences, clean data, and maintain accurate distribution lists across the AMS and email platform
  • Research audience segments and track performance across social, email, and web
  • Turn analytics into recommendations for improving future campaigns
  • Maintain UTMs, links, and conversion tracking
  • Make routine WordPress updates using SEO, AI-search discoverability, accessibility, and conversion best practices
  • Support CADCA's Google Ad Grants campaigns
  • Contribute to integrated marketing efforts, including video and multimedia projects
  • Manage timelines, coordinate reviews and approvals, and proofread outgoing materials
  • Support CADCA's mission of helping coalitions fight substance misuse and create healthier, drug-free communities

Job description
