Job summary

ILG is seeking an Associate Designer to support both showroom clients and custom home builder partnerships in Daytona Beach. You’ll guide clients from initial consultation to final selections, shaping kitchens and baths that align with style and budget.

Proficiency with 20-20 Design, cabinetry knowledge, and the ability to read plans are essential. A design degree (NKBA a plus) and strong communication skills are required.

The Associate Designer supports Design Studio operations by providing administrative assistance and working directly with new homebuyers to guide the selection of interior finishes for their homes. This role contributes to a positive, welcoming, and innovative design experience by helping homebuyers navigate what can be an exciting but complex process. The Associate Designer assists with color selections and interior finish options, including flooring, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, appliances, and related design elements.

Essential Functions

About the Role

Seeking an experienced Kitchen and Bath Designer to support both our retail showroom clients and our custom home builder partners. In this dual role, you'll work with homeowners and prospective buyers directly in a showroom setting, as well as with custom builders and their clients on new-construction and remodel projects. You'll guide clients through the full design process — from initial consultation through final selections — helping them create kitchen and bath spaces that fit their style, budget, and the specifications of their build.

What You’ll Do

You’ll meet with retail customers and custom‑build clients to understand their design goals, lifestyle needs, and budget, then develop functional, on‑trend kitchen and bath designs using tools such as 20‑20 Design. For custom builder projects, you’ll interpret architectural plans and builder specifications to ensure designs align with the home’s structural and mechanical requirements, coordinating closely with builder representatives, ITS lead designers, and trade partners as needed. In the showroom, you’ll present cabinetry, countertop, tile, and fixture options, prepare accurate quotes and design documentation, and guide walk‑in and scheduled clients through product selection. Across both channels, you’ll process change orders as selections evolve, identify upsell opportunities that genuinely fit the client’s vision and budget, and maintain accurate records of client selections and contracts in our design and sales systems. You’ll also stay current on kitchen and bath design trends, materials, and finishes relevant to both retail and custom‑build clientele.

What You’ll Bring

• At least 2 years of kitchen and bath design experience, ideally spanning both retail/showroom design and custom home building or new construction.
• Comfortable with design software such as 20‑20 Design, Excel, Word and working knowledge of cabinetry lines, countertop materials, plumbing fixtures, and finish products, along with the ability to read architectural or builder plans.
• Strong interpersonal and sales skills are essential, since this role blends design consultation with a customer‑facing sales process across two distinct client types, along with the organizational skills to manage multiple active projects, timelines, and client relationships at once.
• A degree or certificate in interior design, kitchen and bath design (NKBA certification is a plus), or a related field is preferred, though equivalent hands‑on experience will also be considered.
• A valid driver’s license is typically required for travel between the showroom, builder sites, and retail homes.

Autonomy, Professional Judgment & Other Duties

Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct “customers” of the process. Other job duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Must be at least eighteen years of age
• Must pass work eligibility requirements
• Generally 0‑3 years of experience in related field preferred
• Interior Design Degree a plus, but not required
• Must have excellent interpersonal/communication skills, detail‑oriented, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook).
