Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Associate Designer to support design center operations and guide new homebuyers through selecting interior finishes for their homes. You will assist with color selections, flooring, cabinetry, countertops and related design elements to create a welcoming, innovative experience.

The role includes administrative tasks, data entry, and coordinating with sales counselors to meet metrics across communities.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• 0-3 years of experience in related field preferred.
• Interior Design degree a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supports design center processes.

• Provide Design support based on demand and volume.
• Accurately record product selections using established department procedures, systems, and practices.
• Adhere to and manage builder time frames for lot file submission.
• May work with Design Center Manager and vendors to correctly sample and display programs in showrooms. Maintains showroom and displays.
• Maintain knowledge regarding communities and all products in the showroom.
• Assess homebuyer needs, preferences, and expectations regarding their lifestyle and specific products for their new home.
• Advise homebuyers on interior design factors, such as space planning, layout and color coordination.
• Ensure that homebuyers are aware of all options available for product upgrades.
• Provide complete product information detailing performance, durability, and maintenance of homebuyer selections.
• Be knowledgeable and able to communicate the design center experience and the overall new home buying experience.
• Conduct browse appointments when necessary.
• Will be working closely with sales counselors at all communities.
• Meet all sales metrics.
• Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues.
• Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Summary

This role contributes to a positive, welcoming, and innovative design experience by helping homebuyers navigate what can be an exciting but complex process. The Associate Designer assists with color selections and interior finish options, including flooring, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, appliances, and related design elements.

Essential Functions

Design Center & Administrative Support

• Supports design center processes.

Education & Experience

• Must be at least eighteen years of age

• Must pass work eligibility requirements

• Generally 0-3 years of experience in related field preferred

• Interior Design Degree a plus, but not required

• Must have excellent interpersonal/communication skills, detail-oriented, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook).
