Rutgers University is seeking an Associate Dean of Students (ADOS) for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. The ADOS oversees student conduct, policy compliance, Title VI/Title IX processes, and restorative justice initiatives to ensure equitable student support.

The role leads policy guidance, handles investigations, and coordinates assessments across departments, with a focus on accessibility, disabilities accommodations, FERPA compliance, and inclusive campus climate.

Qualifications

• Analytical and critical thinking skills to handle complex daily decisions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with administration, faculty and students.
• Working familiarity with Title VI, Title IX, ADA, FERPA and civil rights laws in higher education.
• Knowledge of assessment and research in the higher education setting.
• Decisiveness, flexibility, and experience in investigations related to compliance.
• Knowledge of restorative justice programs and circles.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance on policy compliance, including Title IX and related conduct policies.
• Leads restorative justice programming and services for the division.
• Collaborates with Restorative Justice Coordinator on preventative and repair-focused programs.
• Addresses compliance issues affecting students and accommodations.
• Coordinates assessment and data reporting for the Dean of Students offices.
• Chairs the Student Reintegration Committee and supports students returning to campus.
• Works with bias processes to ensure timely remediation of hostile environment issues.
