University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine and Health Sciences seeks an Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs to provide strategic leadership for faculty life across campuses. The role focuses on recruitment, appointment, promotion, tenure, development, engagement, retention, and professional well-being, reporting to the Vice Dean and COO.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/PhD or equivalent terminal degree.
• Eligible for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor.
• Experience with promotion and tenure processes.
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee faculty appointments, reappointment, promotion, and tenure processes while ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
• Lead faculty development, orientation, mentoring, leadership programs, and succession planning.
• Partner with department chairs on recruitment strategies and faculty engagement initiatives.
• Promote faculty well-being, recognition, and a positive institutional culture.
