Job summary

University of Georgia (UGA) School of Medicine seeks an Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs to lead onboarding, career development, and faculty wellbeing across the SOM. This role provides guidance on promotion, tenure, and professional advancement while partnering with department chairs, HR, and leadership to improve processes.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, PhD, or other terminal degree in a health professions or related field.
• Established record of providing consultation and guidance to faculty and academic leaders on promotion/tenure and career development.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with faculty, chairs, and leadership.
• Ability to use data and assessment measures to evaluate program effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding for new faculty with standardized protocols and resources.
• Advise on promotion pathways, forms, systems, timelines, and portfolio prep.
• Promote faculty wellbeing and engagement across the School of Medicine.
• Coordinate career services, mentorship, and leadership development for faculty.
• Collaborate with chairs and HR on updates to policies and processes.
