Job summary
Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing invites applications for the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Department Chair. This senior academic leader provides strategic, operational, and visionary oversight of all pre-licensure and undergraduate academic programs and the Department of Family and Child Health Nursing.
The role guides faculty orientation, workload planning, mentoring, and curriculum alignment with national standards while collaborating with school leadership
Qualifications
- Senior rank: Associate Professor or Professor.
- Licensed or eligible to practice nursing in Virginia (minimum 2 years of direct clinical care).
- Earned doctorate in nursing or related discipline (at least one graduate degree in nursing).
- Demonstrated teaching experience in nursing programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic, operational, and visionary oversight of undergraduate programs.
- Lead faculty development, workload planning, and mentoring within the department.
- Collaborate with school leadership to advance education, research, and community engagement priorities.
- Ensure curriculum alignment with accreditation standards and the school's mission.
- Develop and monitor program governance, orientation, and faculty workload planning.
- Represent the department in internal and external collaborations with stakeholders.
