Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing invites applications for the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Department Chair. This senior leader provides strategic, operational, and visionary oversight of all pre-licensure and undergraduate academic programs within the Department of Family and Child Health Nursing.

The role supports student success, mentors faculty, and aligns curriculum with the School's mission and national standards.

Qualifications

Full-time senior faculty rank (Associate Professor or Professor).
Virginia licensure or eligibility to practice nursing in Virginia, with at least two years of direct clinical care.
Earned doctorate in nursing or related discipline (one graduate degree must be in nursing).
Demonstrated teaching experience in nursing programs.
Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience in academic programs.
Commitment to an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with diverse faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic, operational, and visionary oversight of undergraduate programs and the Department of Family and Child Health Nursing.
Mentor faculty, manage workload planning, and support faculty development.
Collaborate with school leaders to advance academics, research, practice, and community engagement.
Develop annual faculty work plans and ensure program alignment with the School's mission and standards.
Represent the department in interactions with university and community stakeholders.
