As a Database Engineer you would support, handle & maintain databases that serve and accelerate successful business across our Travel Products. You will demonstrate Database Tech Stack to understand, anticipate and meet the needs of our Product Teams with a constant Cloud First Approach to achieve customer experience excellence.

In this role you will get to:

1. Improve your DB Administration skills for Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL in areas configuration/replication/backup on Linux platform.
2. Enhance your knowledge on Oracle EBS system.
3. Develop expertise on MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL database performance and SQL tuning.
4. Improve automation skills with the use of shell/python scripts and/or ansible.
5. Migrate & Support Databases on Google Cloud Platform thereby improve & grow skills on cloud concepts.
6. Demonstrate your expertise, ability to learn quickly, acquire capabilities to empower the team with DB best methods as a standard.
7. Partner with the Product Team to plan, coordinate & implement DB Tasks for customer happiness.

Who you are:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology, or related industry or equivalent training and experience.
2. 2+ years of validated work experience in Oracle EBS system, MySQL Database Administration.
3. Fluent with database replication, backup/recovery, database security, fix issues & performance tuning concepts.
4. Fluent in Linux environment, shell scripting/python programming.
5. Hands-on experience & exposure with any public cloud provider, GCP preferred.
6. Work independently under general guidance & empower the team with the best methods and standards.
7. Proactively collaborate to learn, grow and excel to handle critical DB tasks independently.
8. Comfortable for 24×7 support on P1 DB Issues as part of On-Call Rotation.
9. Good to have DB and related certifications.
10. Illustrated history of living the values necessary to Priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability and Trust.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant. The salary range for this position is $110,000K- $140,000K USD.
