Job summary

MITRE is seeking an Associate Data Scientist to advance data science, analytics, and modeling across national security, cybersecurity, health, and defense domains. You will contribute to enterprise and systems‑of‑systems analyses, leveraging Python, MATLAB, and MBSE/Digital Engineering concepts to support mission needs and sponsor requirements.

The role emphasizes growth in analytics, modeling, and systems engineering within a collaborative, on‑site team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• Familiarity with Python and MATLAB.
• Familiarity with MBSE and Digital Engineering concepts.
• Experience with statistical analysis and data modeling.
• Willingness to learn new tools in government sponsor environments.
• On-site work requirement: minimum 3 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Use data science, quantitative methods, and mission engineering to identify impactful areas for MITRE.
• Apply Data Science, ML, Data Analytics, MBSE, Digital Engineering, Mission Engineering, and modeling to assess needs and gaps.
• Evaluate architectures and approaches using qualitative and quantitative techniques; explore trade‑offs.
• Develop metrics and analytical methods to measure system data properties like robustness and interoperability.
• Support requirements management, interface management, and architecture change processes.
• Perform data analysis, modeling, and system design including software development and modernization.
• Collaborate across sponsors and projects in small-to-large teams.
