Job summary

MITRE Corporation is seeking a hybrid Data Scientist and Data Engineer to apply advanced analytics, ML/AI, and data engineering methods across the full data lifecycle. You will design scalable data systems, evaluate models, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve critical national-security problems.

The role requires hands‑on experience in ML, NLP, anomaly detection, large datasets, and strong Python/SQL coding skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on proficiency with advanced data science techniques including ML, anomaly detection, statistics and large datasets.
• Programming in Python and SQL; other languages welcome (R, Java, Scala, etc.).
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. government clearance.
• Minimum 3 days per week on-site.
• Preferred advanced degrees with relevant DoD/DoN experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply ML/AI methods across data lifecycle: modeling, processing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Design analytics solutions for mission problems in national security domains.
• Collaborate across data science, data engineering, and software teams to deliver scalable systems.
• Evaluate models and ensure reproducibility, security, and governance.
