Job summary

BBH Burrell Behavioral Health in Hannibal, MO is seeking an Associate Counselor to deliver evidence-based behavioral health services under clinical supervision, assist with screenings and intake, and facilitate group and individual sessions in a supportive, structured setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or associate degree, MO substance use credentials (MAADC I/II CRAADC CRADC RADC-P), and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or associate degree.
  • MO substance use credentials MAADC I/II CRAADC CRADC RADC-P.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, proof of automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with client screenings, assessments, and intake under clinical supervision.
  • Support development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate group counseling sessions, educational groups, and individual client sessions.
  • Participate in clinical staffing and treatment team meetings.
  • Provide direct services aligned with treatment plans and program expectations.
  • Complete timely documentation per regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Ensure discharge summaries and treatment plans receive required review by a Qualified Addiction Professional.
  • Assist clients with transitions in care and related correspondence.
  • Respond to crises and communicate concerns to supervisors as needed.
  • Maintain positive professional relationships with clients, referral partners, and team members.
  • Complete annual trainings and maintain compliance with ASAM standards.

Education

High school diploma/GED or Associate's degree
Missouri substance use credentials: MAADC I or MAADC II CRAADC CRADC RADC-P

What You'll Do

  • Participate in clinical staffing and treatment team meetings.
  • Provide direct services in alignment with treatment plans and program expectations.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Ensure treatment plans and discharge summaries receive required review and approval by a Qualified Addiction Professional.
  • Assist clients with transitions in care and complete related correspondence and documentation.
  • Respond appropriately to crises and communicate concerns to supervisors as needed.
  • Maintain positive professional relationships with clients, referral partners, and team members.
  • Complete required annual trainings and maintain compliance with applicable regulations and ASAM standards.
  • Contribute to a positive, client-centered treatment environment focused on recovery and long-term success.
Qualifications Required
Required Education
  • High school diploma/GED or Associate's degree
Required Credentials
  • One of the following Missouri substance use credentials: MAADC I or MAADC II CRAADC CRADC RADC-P
Additional Requirements

  • Acceptable driving record
  • Proof of current automobile insurance
