Burrell Behavioral Health in Hannibal, MO, seeks an Associate Counselor- SUD to support individuals with mental health and substance use disorders under supervision of a Qualified Addiction Professional. The role emphasizes compassionate behavioral health care and collaboration within a supportive team.

Qualified candidates have foundational counseling experience and strong communication skills, with Missouri requirements for trainees and supervision.

Qualifications

  • Missouri requirements: Associate’s degree or high school diploma/equivalent required.
  • Must meet trainee registration and supervision requirements per Missouri Credentialing Board or relevant professional board.
  • Supervision by a Qualified Addiction Professional who has completed MCB Clinical Supervision Training.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in screening/assessments under supervision.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Complete timely correspondence and documentation.
  • Attend clinical staffing/team meetings.
  • Meet weekly Collaborative Service Goal (CSG) expectations.
  • Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions.
  • Assist clients through transitions and discharge processes.
  • Maintain professional relationships and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Handle crisis situations appropriately.
  • Complete annual training per ASAM standards.
