• Advise on wage and hour compliance.
• Draft and review employment-related agreements.
• Educate management and HR on compliance with laws and internal policies.

GPC is a global service organization engaged in the distribution of automotive replacement parts, operating a broad network of distribution centers, branches, and other facilities.Position Summary:The Associate Counsel – Labor and Employment sits within the Legal department and is responsible for advising on a broad range of labor and employment matters in support of the company’s operations. As a member of the legal team at Genuine Parts Company’s Atlanta, GA location reporting to a VP - Legal, this position handles sensitive employment matters, serves as a subject-matter expert on labor and employment topics, and works closely with cross-functional in-house teams and outside counsel. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, driven, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic public company environment.Responsibilities:· Advise on a broad range of labor and employment matters affecting the company’s operations.· Manage or assist with employment litigation, including demand letters, administrative/agency charges, and lawsuits.· Provide labor and employment support for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and other strategic transactions.· Partner with legal, HR, Finance, and business teams on employment-related due diligence and integration or separation activities.· Support employment aspects of significant workforce initiatives, including changes to organizational structure, compensation programs, employee transfers, and workforce reductions.· Handle agency charges and proceedings before the EEOC, NLRB, and DOL.· Advise on wage and hour compliance.· Counsel business leaders and HR on employee relations matters.· Conduct or oversee workplace investigations.· Develop, review, and advise on employment policies and procedures.· Draft and review employment-related agreements.· Partner closely with HR, business leaders, and outside counsel.· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant labor and employment laws and share that knowledge across various teams, including educating management and other members of the Legal Department.· As necessary, train the HR team and business leaders on compliance with laws and internal policies.Preferred Qualifications & Skills:· Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school· Member of the Georgia Bar (or the ability to waive in)· Minimum of 5 years of significant labor and employment experience in a law firm or in-house/corporate legal department setting· Strong communication and business-partnering skills· Proven ability to manage internal and external relationships· Exceptional communicator· Self-starter· Able to work collaboratively· Team player· Strong organizational skills; must be able to manage and prioritize multiple business objectives and projects with the proper sense of urgencyNot the right fit?
