Job summary

Motion Industries seeks an Associate Counsel for Corporate Contracts and Leasing in Atlanta to draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and real estate leases to support distribution centers and facilities. The role requires a JD, admission to the Georgia Bar, and 5+ years of relevant experience. You will coordinate with internal teams and outside counsel to manage complex matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, JD, and Georgia Bar membership required.
• Experience in commercial contracts and real estate leasing essential.
• Minimum of 5 years’ legal practice at a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and outside counsel.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including corporate, procurement, vendor, supplier, and service agreements.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle from drafting through execution and renewal.
• Draft, review, and negotiate real estate lease agreements, including renewals and amendments.
• Collaborate with internal real estate, procurement, lease management, and business teams, and liaise with outside counsel and landlords.
• Advise VP - Legal, senior management, and business teams on contract and lease matters.
• Manage outside counsel relationships as needed.

SUMMARY:The Associate Counsel – Corporate Contracts and Leasing sits within the Legal department and is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts and real estate lease agreements in support of the company’s distribution centers, branches, and other facilities. This position joins the newly created legal team at Motion Industries’ Atlanta, GA location; the role will be reporting to Motion Industries’ VP - Legal.
