Job summary

NBCUniversal in New York, NY is seeking an Associate Counsel to provide day-to-day legal support for enterprise-wide commercial transactions across NBCUniversal’s businesses, including AI initiatives. The attorney drafts, negotiates, and reviews agreements and delivers practical, business-oriented advice.

This hybrid role requires NY Bar, JD/LLM, 1–3 years for Associate or 4+ years for Counsel, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Member of the New York Bar (NY Bar in good standing).
• JD or LL.M. from an accredited law school.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience for Associate Counsel; 4+ years for Counsel.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; willingness to work in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal support for enterprise-wide corporate functions and cross-business-unit initiatives.
• Independently draft, review, negotiate, and interpret a wide range of commercial agreements (SAAS licenses, professional services, research, equipment purchases).
• Counsel clients on emerging issues in technology transactions, including AI.
• Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice, identify risks, and develop effective solutions.
• Partner with executives and cross-functional teams (Privacy and Information Security) across NBCUniversal.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, policies, and resources to ensure consistent approaches to commercial transactions.
