Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking an Associate Counsel / Counsel in Corporate Legal Affairs to support enterprise-wide commercial transactions across NBCU's global operations. You will independently draft, review, and negotiate SAAS licenses, professional services, procurement and other agreements, providing practical, business-focused legal advice.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Privacy and Information Security, and helping shape contracting templates and policies.

Qualifications

• Member of the New York Bar.
• JD or LLM degree from an accredited law school.
• 1 to 3 years of experience for Associate Counsel and 4+ years for Counsel.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal support for enterprise-wide corporate functions.
• Independently draft, review, negotiate, and interpret a wide range of agreements, including SAAS licenses, professional service, research, equipment purchase and other commercial agreements.
• Negotiate and counsel clients regarding emerging issues in technology transactions, including AI.
• Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to stakeholders, identifying potential risks and developing creative, effective solutions that support business objectives.
• Partner with executives and colleagues across NBCUniversal including cross-functional subject matter experts such as the Privacy and Information Security teams.
• Help develop and implement organization-wide best practices and processes, including creation and maintenance of contract templates, corporate policies and other resources to promote efficient and consistent approaches to commercial transactions.
