AMC Global Media seeks an Associate Counsel to join our Legal team in New York, NY. The role provides day-to-day legal counsel across Production, Creative, Finance, Insurance and HR, and supports the litigation docket.

Qualifications include a J.D., NY Bar, and at least two years of legal experience with litigation focus; in-house studio or media company background is preferred. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and flexible remote work options.

• Experience in in-house legal or business affairs at a studio, agency, or media company preferred.
• Knowledge of IP, labor and employment, defamation, rights of publicity, or privacy law preferred.
• Familiarity with entertainment industry development, production, transactions, and standards preferred.
• Excellent communication, drafting, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to collaborate across teams.
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters.

Responsabilités

• Assist in providing day-to-day legal counsel and support to a broad array of business units, including Production, Creative, Finance, Insurance and Human Resources.
• Review and advise on legal matters arising during content production, including rights issues; review content for copyright, trademark, and defamation risks; advise on employment matters.
• Assist in managing AMC's litigation docket, including helping to develop and implement litigation strategy.
• Analyze and interpret contracts and provide thoughtful legal advice on risks and issues across disciplines.
• Work closely with Studio business affairs to draft and negotiate production-related agreements.
• Help develop and refine Studio and Corporate forms and policies.

We are currently seeking an Associate Counsel to join our Legal team in our New York, NY location.

The base compensation for this position is $120,000 - $130,000 commensurate with experience. • Assist in providing day-to-day legal counsel and support to a broad array of business units, including Production, Creative, Finance, Insurance and Human Resources, as needed.


• Review and advise on legal matters arising during content production, including evaluating rights issues; reviewing content for copyright, trademark, and defamation risks; and advising on employment matters.


• Assist in managing AMC's litigation docket, including helping to develop and implement litigation strategy.


• Analyze and interpret contracts and provide thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues in a wide range of legal areas.


• Work closely with members of the Studio business affairs team to draft and negotiate production-related agreements.


• Help develop and refine Studio and Corporate forms and policies.

Qualifications (Required & Preferred)

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.


• Member of the New York Bar in good standing.


• Minimum of two years of legal experience, including experience at a law firm with an emphasis on litigation. Experience in an in-house legal or business affairs department at a studio, advertising agency, production company, or comparable media company is preferred.


• Knowledge of intellectual property, labor and employment, defamation, rights of publicity, or privacy law is preferred.


• Familiarity with entertainment industry development, production, transactions, and standards is preferred.


• Excellent communication, drafting, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within the legal team and across business divisions.


• Self-starter with strong attention to detail.


• Excellent organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters across disciplines, follow through, and meet deadlines.


• Eagerness and ability to learn and retain new substantive matters quickly.


• Sound judgment and the ability to remain effective in a fast-paced, demanding environment.


• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgment, including in ambiguous situations.
