Job summary

Insure National is seeking an attorney, law school graduate, or claims professional to join its Legal Department in a high-visibility role supporting claims oversight, litigation management, and Authority In Box (AIB) administration.

The ideal candidate will work directly with the General Counsel and senior leaders, gaining broad exposure to claims operations, regulatory matters, governance, and strategic business initiatives within an entrepreneurial insurance organization.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in insurance carrier, law firm, claims dept, TPA, MGA or corporate legal environment.
• Licensed to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• Experience with TPAs and insurance litigation is a plus.

About the Opportunity

A growing insurance organization is seeking an attorney, law school graduate, or claims professional to join its Legal Department in a highly visible role supporting claims oversight, litigation management, and Authority In Box (AIB) administration.

This position is ideal for a newer attorney interested in transitioning in-house, a recently admitted attorney, or a claims professional with legal exposure looking to expand their career. Working directly with the General Counsel and senior business leaders, the successful candidate will gain broad exposure to claims operations, litigation management, insurance regulation, compliance, corporate governance, and legal operations.

This is a unique opportunity offering exposure beyond traditional claims or legal support functions, including claims management, regulatory matters, governance, compliance, and strategic business initiatives. Candidates licensed in any U.S. jurisdiction, foreign-trained attorneys, and attorneys transitioning into insurance and claims environments are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review Authority In Box (AIB) requests submitted by third-party administrators (TPAs).
• Evaluate requests involving reserve changes, defense counsel assignments, settlement authority, and expert retention.
• Assist with oversight of litigated and non-litigated insurance claims.
• Monitor claims handled by TPAs for compliance with company guidelines and service standards.
• Review significant claim developments and assist with reporting to management.
• Review and audit defense counsel invoices and legal billing for compliance with litigation management guidelines.
• Respond to and coordinate Department of Insurance (DOI) complaints, inquiries, and regulatory matters.
• Coordinate with claims, underwriting, legal, compliance, and outside counsel regarding active matters.
• Support subpoena responses, document production, and litigation-related projects.
• Assist with legal operations, corporate governance, compliance initiatives, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience within an insurance carrier, law firm, claims department, TPA, MGA, or corporate legal environment.
• Prior claims handling or claims oversight experience preferred.
• Experience working with TPAs strongly preferred.
• Exposure to insurance litigation, legal bill review, regulatory matters, or delegated authority programs is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly collaborative, coachable, and eager to learn.
