Job summary

MGT is a premier management consulting firm with a global footprint, seeking an Associate to lead research and analysis efforts and to shape strategic recommendations for diverse clients in the private, public, and social sectors.

You will partner with Engagement Managers, guide project teams through transformations, due diligence, and market studies, and directly interact with clients to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• MBA, PhD, MPA, etc. preferred but not required; undergraduate degree required.

Responsibilities

• Lead small teams of Analysts in research and analysis that define our strategic recommendations.
• Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and implement original, creative solutions.
• Work closely with Engagement Managers to guide teams through projects such as Organization Transformation, Private Equity Due Diligence, Strategic Development/Implementation, Market Research & Assessments.
• Manage diverse and impactful internal initiatives.

While there is no single educational or professional background that best prepares you for a fulfilling career at MGT, we typically look for the following qualifications:

• Advanced graduate degree (MBA, PhD, MPA, etc.) preferred, but not required; undergraduate degree required
• Excellent academic record and grade point average
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• 3+ years of experience in management/strategy consulting, non-profits, think tanks, startups, financial services, or similar environments
• Ability to think independently and meaningfully collaborate with teams
• Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in English, both verbally and in writing (additional languages are always welcome and appreciated)
• Effective organization skills and ability to multi-task
• Exceptional ambition and leadership skills in academic, professional, or extracurricular settings
