Job summary

The North Face is seeking an Associate Color Designer to support the seasonal color design process from trend research through concept development and color application. You will work with designers and the Design Manager to build foundational skills and contribute to color stories across products.

The role emphasizes learning the brand aesthetic, collaboration across teams, and delivering color concepts for apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in color, trend or product design within apparel, footwear, equipment or accessories.
• Experience researching color and consumer trends across performance and/or lifestyle products.
• A foundational understanding of color theory, concept ideation and visual storytelling.
• Experience applying color palettes to CADs and/or croquis.
• An understanding of the design process and the ability to work toward key milestones and deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support seasonal trend and market research, concept ideation and color design application.
• Create color palettes, mood boards, color decks and other design tools with direction from designers and the Design Manager.
• Apply color concepts to product CADs and croquis across apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories.
• Build your understanding of the design process, systems, brand DNA and key seasonal milestones.
• Contribute to team reviews, workshops and events with curiosity, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and adapt as priorities and needs evolve.
