Overview:
The Associate Cloud Architect supports the Professional Services team in assisting clients through their Azure migration and modernization journey. This entry-level role focuses on providing technical assistance to Cloud Architects, performing data gathering and assessments, conducting subscription migrations, and maintaining technical documentation. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure services. This role is the first level in a track of advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Cloud Architects in the design, planning, and delivery of Azure and hybrid-cloud solutions.
- Conduct environment discovery, data gathering, and assessment activities for client migration and modernization projects.
- Execute Azure subscription migrations following a Cloud Architect-designed plan, including after-hours or weekend activities when required.
- Support the documentation of environments, processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain and update internal and external knowledge bases.
- Assist with generating assessment reports and client deliverables using tools such as Azure Resource Inventory (ARI), AzGovViz, and Azure Advisor.
- Participate in workshops, training sessions, and internal team development programs to build proficiency in Azure technologies.
- Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and opportunities for automation.
Required Skills & Qualifications (must-haves):
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Strong interest in cloud computing and Microsoft Azure.
- Foundational understanding of Azure services (Compute, Networking, Storage, and Identity).
- Basic scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
- Ability to work during and outside standard business hours to support migrations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications (nice-to-haves):
- Microsoft Azure certification (AZ-900, AZ-104, or in progress).
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep).
- Exposure to Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, Azure SQL, ,Azure Virtual Desktop, and related technologies.
- Familiarity with Azure Data/SQL, DevOps, Analytics (Fabric), and AI platforms a major plus.
- Prior experience with customer-facing or support roles, helpdesk experience supporting clients in Azure a plus.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and contribute to a team-based environment.
- Operating Hours: 6:00 am to 3:00 pm PT OR 7:00 am to 4:00 pm PT
- After hours/weekend work: As required to support production migrations and cutover events
- Estimated Salary Range: $85K - $110K (*DOE)
