Job summary

iT1, a leading national technology solution provider, seeks a motivated Solutions Architect for Azure to join our Consulting team in Tempe, AZ. The role focuses on designing, building, and delivering cloud-based Microsoft solutions for enterprise clients.

You will engineer Azure IaaS solutions, mentor peers, and collaborate across pre-sales, development, and management to drive successful outcomes while staying current with Microsoft technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of senior-level experience with Microsoft technologies.
• Experience in a technical consulting role including implementations and client-facing meetings.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Azure IaaS experience including ASR, Backup, Networking, ARM templates and JSON.
• Core data center skills: Storage, Networking, Windows Server administration.
• Scripting and automation and Microsoft certifications in 3-4 competency areas.
• Advanced technical skill in 1-2 complimentary areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement technical architectures for Azure cloud-based solutions, aligned with client objectives.
• Host workshops to gather requirements and present solutions.
• Define data management and governance practices for data security and compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Prepare comprehensive client documentation including specs and user guides.
• Collaborate with Pre-Sales, developers, PMs, and analysts to ensure project success.
• Mentor other architects and engineers and share knowledge.
• Participate in planning, reviews, and retrospectives to deliver team solutions.
• Sign off on detailed designs with sponsorship and drive secure, reliable service designs.
• Manage daily tasks across multiple projects and report time spent.

The Technical Architect, Azure Infrastructure is responsible for the design, build, and delivery of complex projects focusing on Microsoft technologies across all industry verticals to meet our client’s technology and business needs. This role requires a deep understanding of data analytics, business intelligence, and the design, implementation, and delivery of cloud-based solutions for enterprise clients. This includes, but is not limited to developing technical architecture, and preparing client documentation. You must have significant development experience and an understanding of Microsoft's cloud strategy.

Our engineering team consults with our project management team and clients to deploy highly technical solutions to help our clients achieve their business objectives. This person will be a subject matter expert for strategic client opportunities covering one or more technology areas with a focus on Azure Infrastructure.

• Develop and implement technical architectures for Azure cloud-based solutions, ensuring they align with client's business objectives
• Host technical workshops to gather requirements and present solutions
• Defines data management and governance practices to ensure the accuracy, security, and compliance of data within Microsoft technologies
• Identifies opportunities to optimize performance and scalability and implements solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost optimization
• Prepare comprehensive client documentation, including technical specifications and user guides
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Pre-Sales Engineers, developers, project managers, and business analysts, to ensure successful project outcomes
• Partners with and mentors other architects and engineers to share your knowledge and experience
• Participate in planning, review, and retrospective meetings and deliver solutions as a team
• Participates in peer review and signs off on detailed designs with project / executive sponsorship
• Drives service designs and outcomes that are globally available, secure, and reliable to our customers
• Executes daily tasks across multiple projects
• Manages and reports time spent on all work activities
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Microsoft technologies and industry trends to continuously improve solutions and methodologies

Job Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline or equivalent experience
• Must have 7+ years of senior-level experience with related technologies
• Minimum 7 years of experience in a technical consulting role including implementations and must be comfortable in client-facing meetings
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to overcome difficult challenges
• Ability to work in a team environment and as an individual

Job Location:

• Remote if candidate residence is outside a reasonable commute to Tempe, AZ.
